Varanasi Gears Up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mega Roadshow

Varanasi, the city of temples, is ready to host a spectacular event on Monday evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead a roadshow, marking the start of his campaign for a third term from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency.

The roadshow, covering a distance of five kilometres, will start with the Prime Minister paying homage to Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Lanka Gate of Banaras Hindu University. This act signifies the Prime Minister’s respect for the city’s historical figures and its rich academic heritage.

The procession will make its way through the city, ending at the sacred Kashi Vishwanath temple. Here, the Prime Minister will seek divine blessings, reinforcing the city’s spiritual significance.

The roadshow is set to be a colourful display of the central government’s achievements over the past decade. It aims to highlight the promises kept and the milestones reached, reflecting the government’s commitment to the nation’s progress.

The route of the roadshow, which includes Assi, Sonarpura, Jangambari, and Godaulia, features a hundred points of welcome. These points are designed to extend a warm welcome to the Prime Minister, showcasing the city’s hospitality.

The planning and execution of the eleven beats, marking the path from the Malaviya statue to the holy Kashi Vishwanath Dham, have been meticulously managed by senior BJP officials and representatives. Their efforts ensure a smooth event and enthusiastic participation.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to file his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat on May 14. Varanasi, a stronghold of the BJP and PM Modi, has witnessed his victory in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. As the city prepares for the upcoming elections, the roadshow marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in its vibrant political history.
