Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Boeing India’s Engineering & Technology Hub in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the doors to the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus in Bengaluru today. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone in India’s burgeoning aerospace and defence sector, representing Boeing’s largest investment outside the United States.

Spread across 43 acres and constructed at a cost of ₹1,600 crore, the BIETC campus is poised to become a crucial hub for innovation and collaboration. The centre will house over 3,000 engineers and specialists, working on cutting-edge projects in areas like aircraft design, manufacturing, and digital technologies.

The BIETC’s establishment aligns with India’s ambitious “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, aiming to propel the country’s indigenous aerospace manufacturing capabilities. The centre will not only create high-skilled jobs but also foster partnerships with local startups and academic institutions, nurturing a vibrant ecosystem for technological advancement.

In a noteworthy move, Prime Minister Modi also launched the Boeing Sukanya Programme alongside the BIETC inauguration. This initiative specifically targets girl children and young women, aiming to encourage their participation in STEM fields related to aviation. The program includes setting up STEM labs, providing scholarships for women pilots, and offering mentorship opportunities within the aerospace industry.
