J&K – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent public rally in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, expressed strong criticism towards family-run political parties, holding them responsible for the region’s setbacks.
The Prime Minister singled out the Congress, National Conference, PDP, and other parties, accusing them of wanting to revert Jammu and Kashmir to its former state. “Family-run parties have inflicted the most damage on Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted, highlighting his critique with a comment on their alleged nepotism. He further explained, “Here, a political party is synonymous with a family business, run by the family and for the family.”
His remarks were made against the backdrop of the ongoing political turbulence in the region and were interpreted as a direct rebuke of the family-run parties, which he believes have impeded Jammu and Kashmir’s progress and development.
The Prime Minister voiced his disapproval of the parties’ alleged attempts to take Jammu and Kashmir back to “those old days.” His comments were met with enthusiastic applause from his supporters at the rally.
This rally forms part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing campaign to consolidate his party’s foothold in the region. The reaction from the parties targeted by his comments is keenly anticipated.
