Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Yamuna Nagar, paid heartfelt tribute to freedom fighter Sir Sankaran Nair, recalling his fearless stand against British atrocities following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Remembering Nair’s resignation from the Viceroy’s Executive Council in protest of the massacre, PM Modi said, “Sankaran Nair Ji’s courageous stand against British cruelty after Jallianwala Bagh is a shining chapter in our freedom struggle. His actions symbolized unwavering commitment to justice and humanity.”
The Prime Minister described Nair as a towering figure whose legacy continues to inspire generations. “He was a symbol of justice, humanity, and unity. His life teaches us to stand firm for truth and national interest,” he said.
Linking Nair’s ideals to India’s present-day aspirations, PM Modi added, “As we march towards a Viksit Bharat, Sankaran Nair’s legacy reminds us of the strength found in courage and conviction.”
