Bengaluru, Karnataka: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader CT Ravi strongly criticized Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge for his remarks seeking a ban on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activities in the state, defending the organisation’s contributions to the nation and accusing the Congress of supporting divisive elements.
Responding to Kharge’s statement, Ravi said, “RSS respects patriotism, nationalism, and service. Taliban is a terrorist organisation. There is a huge difference between terrorism and patriotism.”
He further alleged that the Congress party supports terrorists and works against nationalist forces. “Congress supports terrorists and tries to eliminate patriotism,” Ravi asserted, adding that attempts to malign the RSS were politically motivated and aimed at appeasement.
The political row comes amid rising tensions between the ruling Congress government in Karnataka and the BJP over ideological issues, with the RSS often at the center of such debates.
