BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla Blames Congress for Bengaluru Stampede, Alleges Misgovernance and Scapegoating

Reacting sharply to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s remarks on the Bengaluru stampede incident, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of misgovernance, broken promises, and diverting blame.

“The Congress party has only one thing to do with Karnataka — to take money and give inflation in return,” Poonawalla said. Referring to the tragic incident in Bengaluru, which led to the deaths of 11 people, he alleged that the ruling party has evaded responsibility and is now searching for scapegoats.

“The police had already flagged concerns about their ability to organise the event. If they denied it, then who overruled their decision?” he questioned, implying that the political leadership ignored warnings. He further accused the Congress of looting public funds and making false promises, adding, “The police were made scapegoats in this tragedy.”

The BJP leader’s remarks come amid growing political tension in Karnataka, as the opposition demands accountability and transparency in the handling of the incident.
