Bengaluru — Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council and senior BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy has criticized the ongoing caste survey in the state, accusing the government of misleading the public.
Speaking to reporters, Narayanaswamy said, “They are not convincing but confusing people in the state with this caste survey. The numbers which will come out in the national census will be correct.”
His remarks come amid an ongoing political debate in Karnataka over the legitimacy and purpose of the state’s caste-based data collection, with the BJP raising concerns about its methodology and intent.
The Karnataka government has defended the survey, stating it is necessary to ensure equitable resource distribution and social justice.
