Bengaluru, Karnataka – BJP leader CT Ravi has voiced strong support for the Waqf Amendment Bill, stating that it is in line with the party’s manifesto and should be amended to align with the Constitution. Ravi emphasized that the existing Waqf Bill was against constitutional principles, making it necessary for the amendment.
“The Waqf Bill should be amended, and BJP had promised this in the manifesto as well,” said Ravi, affirming that the party remains committed to its promises regarding the reform. He also criticized the current provisions of the Waqf Bill, claiming they contradicted constitutional values.
Ravi expressed confidence in the amendment’s success, noting, “It is currently under debate, and we are faithful that it will be passed.” The bill, which aims to bring greater transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties, has sparked political debate, with the BJP leading the charge for reform.
The Waqf Amendment Bill is expected to undergo further discussion and scrutiny in Parliament, and Ravi’s remarks highlight the BJP’s stance on improving the system to ensure fairness and benefit for all sections of society.
