BJP Karnataka Unit Declares Intention to Oust Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Alleges Government Failures

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Karnataka unit, under the directive of its central leadership, has intensified its stance against the Congress-led state government, calling for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation amidst allegations of governance failures and corruption.

In a significant development, BJP national general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal declared on Thursday that the party would not relent until Chief Minister Siddaramaiah steps down. This assertion came during a state executive meeting held in Bengaluru, where a resolution was passed condemning the Congress government’s alleged inability to undertake developmental initiatives and its involvement in corruption practices.

The resolution, proposed by Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly R. Ashok, accused the state government of neglecting public interest and financial discipline, which it claimed had led Karnataka towards economic instability. It also criticized the administration for what it described as deteriorating law and order conditions, demanding immediate accountability from the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering, BJP’s Radha Mohan Das Agarwal highlighted the party’s electoral gains in the recent Lok Sabha polls, asserting that public dissatisfaction with the Congress government had been reflected in the BJP’s performance across assembly constituencies. He criticized the government’s populist measures, alleging they were aimed at garnering votes rather than addressing substantive issues affecting the state.

Furthermore, the executive session adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the BJP’s successive victories under his leadership in the parliamentary elections. BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the state government’s guarantee schemes, arguing that they imposed greater financial burdens on the populace than the benefits they purportedly provided.

The meeting, attended by approximately 1,500 delegates including Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, and legislators, underscored the BJP’s concerted effort to mobilize support for a campaign aimed at challenging the ruling Congress party’s governance record in Karnataka.
