BENGALURU – Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah addressed a gathering in Bengaluru, where he drew a stark contrast between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Congress party.
“On one side, it is PM Modi. On the other side, it is Congress which has indulged in corruption of Rs 12 lakh crores,” Shah stated, highlighting the alleged corruption scandals that have plagued the Congress party.
Shah’s comments come at a time when the BJP is making concerted efforts to consolidate its position in the southern states. His visit to Bengaluru is seen as part of this larger strategy.
The Home Minister lauded the leadership of PM Modi, contrasting it with what he described as the corruption-ridden tenure of the Congress. He alleged that the Congress party had been involved in corruption amounting to Rs 12 lakh crores, a charge that the Congress has repeatedly denied.
Shah’s speech was aimed at rallying support for the BJP and PM Modi, ahead of key political developments. His remarks underscore the BJP’s strategy of positioning PM Modi’s leadership as a clean, decisive, and development-oriented alternative to the Congress.
The Congress party has yet to respond to Shah’s allegations. The political discourse in the country continues to heat up as both parties gear up for the upcoming electoral battles.
