BENGALURU – In a move that is set to delight cricket fans across the city, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced that Namma Metro services will be extended during the days of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
The decision comes as a response to the IPL matches scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the city. The extended metro services aim to facilitate cricket enthusiasts who travel to the stadium to watch the matches and return late at night.
A spokesperson from the metro department confirmed the news, stating, “We understand the passion and enthusiasm that the IPL brings to the city. To ensure that fans can enjoy the matches without worrying about their commute back home, we have decided to extend the metro operating hours on match days.”
This move is expected to significantly ease the traffic congestion usually experienced during the IPL season and provide a convenient and efficient mode of transport for the fans.
The BMRCL, however, has not yet disclosed the exact timings of the extended services. Commuters are advised to check the official BMRCL website or app for updates on the same.
