BENGALURU, KARNATAKA – BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Bengaluru. In a recent statement, he questioned the government’s commitment to building “Brand Bengaluru” amidst the current state of affairs.
Surya pointed out the recent incidents that have shaken the city’s peace. “What happened to Mukesh yesterday could happen to any person sitting and going to his business honestly in a calm, unprovoked manner anywhere in the city,” he said. He was referring to the unprovoked attacks on shopkeepers that have been reported recently.
The MP also mentioned the bomb blast that occurred two weeks ago and the ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans that were raised a week prior. He questioned the message the government is trying to send with these incidents happening under its watch.
Surya further criticized the Congress party, stating, “Why is it that whenever the Congress party comes to power, elements like these who want to create disturbance and disharmony in society, why do they feel emboldened?” He also called out cabinet ministers like Dinesh Gundu Rao for defending the accused instead of standing up for the victims’ justice.
The MP’s comments have sparked a debate on the state of law and order in Bengaluru, and whether the city can truly build its brand under such circumstances. The government is yet to respond to these allegations.
