Karnataka, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a recent political rally in Karnataka. He accused the party of perpetuating a divisive mentality, reminiscent of the British colonial era.
“Congress is a party that will go to any extent to gain power,” Modi said. “The British have left, but the Congress has not left the British mentality of divide and rule.”
He further criticized the Congress for dividing the country on various lines – caste, community, religion, region, and language – in its quest for power. Despite these divisions, Modi claimed that the Congress party is still not satisfied and has started playing a dangerous game of further dividing the country.
The Prime Minister also referred to a recent statement by a Congress MP from Karnataka about dividing the country once again. “Instead of throwing such an MP out of the party, the Congress party is protecting him,” he said.
Modi concluded his speech by assuring the people of Karnataka that such politics and conspiracies would never succeed in the state. “On 4th June, they will realize what it means to challenge Shakti,” he warned, without elaborating further.
The Congress party has yet to respond to the Prime Minister’s accusations. The political climate in Karnataka remains tense as the state gears up for the upcoming elections.
