R Ashoka Slams Karnataka Government Over Suhas Shetty Murder Case, Alleges Bias

Bengaluru, Karnataka — Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R Ashoka, has launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government over its handling of the Suhas Shetty murder case, accusing it of communal bias and selective action.

“Last month, a Hindu karyakarta was killed by the Muslims. I thought they were terrorists. Why was no action taken at that moment? Now, when a Muslim guy has been killed, task forces are being sent and ministers are visiting the spot,” Ashoka said, questioning the government’s differing responses to two incidents.

He further accused the Siddaramaiah government of discrimination and alleged it was adopting an “anti-Hindu” stance. “You are discriminating between Hindus and Muslims… In Vidhan Soudha, slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were raised. Why was no action taken then?” he added.

The remarks have intensified political tensions in Karnataka, with the BJP accusing the Congress government of communal favoritism, while the Congress is yet to issue a formal response.
