Bengaluru — Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council and senior BJP leader, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has raised concerns over the state government’s ongoing caste survey, alleging that it is misleading the public.
Speaking on the issue, Narayanaswamy said, “They are not convincing but confusing people in the state with the caste survey. The numbers which will come out in the national census will be correct.”
His remarks reflect the BJP’s broader skepticism toward the state-led survey, which has sparked a political debate across Karnataka. The ruling Congress government has defended the move as necessary for equitable development and policy planning.
