Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra has raised serious concerns regarding the alleged diversion of funds from the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation (KMVSTDC), questioning how such financial irregularities could occur without the knowledge of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The BJP has called upon CM Siddaramaiah to take accountability for the alleged mismanagement at KMVSTDC, indicating plans to stage protests at deputy commissioner offices across all district centers on Friday, June 28.
Speaking at a press conference in Delhi on Wednesday, BJP State President B Y Vijayendra reiterated the party’s assertion that funds were illicitly transferred to benami companies to fund Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. The scandal revolves around accusations of diverting funds from KMVSTDC’s bank accounts to accounts in Telangana.
The matter is currently under investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has already made 11 arrests in connection with the scam, involving an estimated Rs 94 crore. Vijayendra criticized the formation of the SIT, alleging that it was established at the convenience of the state government and aimed at misleading the public.
“The SIT’s investigation is being manipulated to deceive the people,” stated Vijayendra during the press briefing, highlighting BJP’s stance on the issue. The party remains adamant in its demand for transparency and accountability from the state government regarding the alleged financial misconduct at KMVSTDC.
The developments have sparked political tensions in Karnataka, with BJP intensifying its scrutiny of the Siddaramaiah administration’s handling of public funds. As the investigation progresses, the state awaits further revelations and responses from the government on addressing the alleged financial discrepancies.
