Prime Minister Narendra Modi has confirmed the return of his popular monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, which will air again on June 30. The broadcast had been on hold due to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with the last episode aired on February 25.
PM Modi made the announcement on social media, encouraging citizens to contribute their ideas and suggestions for the upcoming episode. “Delighted to share that after a gap of some months due to the elections, #MannKiBaat is back! This month’s programme will take place on Sunday, 30th June. I call upon all of you to share your ideas and inputs for the same. Write on the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, or record your message on 1800 11 7800,” he posted.
The hiatus was in line with the Election Commission’s guidelines to ensure fairness during the Lok Sabha elections. In his 110th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi had announced, “Mann Ki Baat will not be broadcast for the next three months in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.”
The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, conducted in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, culminated with the counting of votes and declaration of results on June 4, which led to the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Since its launch on October 3, 2014, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has become a significant platform for the Prime Minister to communicate directly with the citizens, discussing various national issues and themes. The programme aims to connect with diverse segments of society, including women, the elderly, and the youth, by addressing their concerns and celebrating their achievements.
The resumption of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ marks a return to this critical engagement platform, allowing citizens to participate in national conversations and share their perspectives. PM Modi’s call for public input via the MyGov Open Forum, NaMo App, and the dedicated toll-free number highlights his administration’s commitment to participatory governance and inclusive dialogue.
The anticipation for the return of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is palpable, as it serves as a key medium for the Prime Minister to share insights, discuss policy initiatives, and highlight stories of individual and collective triumphs from across the nation.
As the broadcast date approaches, citizens are encouraged to submit their ideas and topics of interest, ensuring that the programme continues to reflect the diverse voices and aspirations of the Indian population. This initiative reinforces PM Modi’s dedication to maintaining a direct and open line of communication with the people, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose in the pursuit of national progress.
