Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public rally in Sagar, delivered a scathing rebuke to the Congress party for its proposal to implement an Inheritance Tax, branding it as a revelation of their “hidden agenda.”
In a fervent address to the crowd, PM Modi exclaimed, “Congress has once again exposed its true intentions. Their concealed motives have now surfaced. Congress is advocating for an Inheritance Tax… They aim to levy taxes on inheritance received from parents.”
Expressing grave concern, Modi asserted that such a tax imposition would siphon off nearly half of the property amassed through individuals’ hard work, intended for transfer to their children. He accused the Congress of disregarding India’s deeply rooted family values and alleged their intent to exploit individuals’ wealth both during their lifetime and after.
“The Congress mantra appears to be ‘Congress ki loot, zindage ke sath bhi loot aur zindagi ke baad bhi loot…'” the Prime Minister asserted, condemning the proposed tax.
The proposed Inheritance Tax has sparked intense debate, with critics arguing that it contradicts the traditional Indian practice of intergenerational wealth transfer. Conversely, proponents argue that it could serve to mitigate wealth inequality in the nation.
PM Modi’s remarks come amidst heightened political fervor in anticipation of upcoming elections, with economic policies emerging as a focal point of contention between the ruling party and the opposition.
As political tensions escalate, the proposed Inheritance Tax is poised to become a pivotal issue in the discourse, influencing discussions on economic policies and their resonance with Indian societal values.
