Bengaluru – Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, criticizing its leadership and its record on job creation.
Yediyurappa stated that the Congress party has seemingly forgotten about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He pointed out that the leadership of Rahul Gandhi has been a complete failure, with the state Congress government focusing solely on central government grants.
“We are facing this election based on the achievements of PM Narendra Modi in the last 10 years,” Yediyurappa said. He accused the Congress of making unfounded claims about job creation under the Modi government.
The Congress party had previously stated that the Modi government had created 2 crore jobs, a figure which Yediyurappa disputed. “7 crore jobs have been created in the country,” he claimed, challenging the Congress to provide evidence for their figures.
Yediyurappa then turned his attention to the state government led by Siddaramaiah, questioning its record on job creation. “How many jobs has Siddaramaiah’s government created in the last 10 months?” he asked. He claimed that the Congress government has not created even one job in the past 10 months.
This statement comes as the latest in a series of criticisms by Yediyurappa against the Congress party, as the political temperature in the state continues to rise ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
